KIRTAN

SING AND RAISE YOUR VIBRATION.

Kirtan is easily described as musical meditation, but it’s much, much more than that. Kirtan is an ancient mantra practice that creates a sense of completeness, unity, and harmony in the mind, body and spirit. The repetition of powerful mantras has the power to peel back the layers of the ego, and to let the inner jewel of the soul shine forth.

Tom has been practicing and leading Kirtan in New Zealand, Australia and Europe since 2017, from festivals to ashrams, wellness retreats to yoga studios. He creates energised atmospheres with creativity, confidence, and joy, playing the guitar, harmonium, drums & percussion and the harmonica. From blues and rock-inspired dance-alongs to traditional heart-wrenching melodies, Tom brings a modern sound to a practice with thousands of years of tradition.

Through the practice of Tantra Hatha Yoga, a skilfully sequenced set of postures, breath-work and meditation combine, and true self-realisation is near. Real peace and the stilling of the mind is attainable.

Tom has over 400hrs Yoga Alliance certified training, and offer private Tantra Hatha yoga & meditation sessions to groups and individuals of all levels of experience, across New Zealand & Australia. Highly personalised and specifically tailored sessions are created to suit the individual, and lead to good health, vitality, and longevity, and a calmness that endures.

In addition to private classes, Tom creates for you a solid, sustainable self-practice to practice in your daily routine.

He is currently teach at the award-winning Aro Ha Wellness Retreat and at the beautiful studio Nadi Wellness in Queenstown, New Zealand.

TOM’S YOGA JOURNEY:

I began my yoga journey in early 2014, inspired by my mum and late grandfather, encouraged by my yogi friends, and driven by a need to slow my heart rate in the fast paced film and photography world. 

After completing two Modern Yogi projects with the senior teachers at Power Living Australia, I knew I'd found a practice that not only felt great in my body, but brought peace and clarity to my mind. I was hooked!

In 2016 I took my practice to an advanced level by completing an internationally accredited 200hr Vinyasa Teacher Training course at the Hare Krishna School of Yogic Studies in NSW, Australia. I never knew guiding a room full of wide-eyed yogi towards a well deserved Savasana would be so fulfilling. In 2018 I completed a further 200hrs of training at the renowned Bali-based studio The Practice where I dived deep into the traditional and energetic teachings of Tantra; a training that would re-sculpt my outlook on yoga, and life.

Through teaching yoga and meditation, I've found a true passion; a passion for helping those around me gain peace of mind and happiness.
