Blog: Live Well and Take Good Photos

London Street Photography 2025
To walk around the UK’s capital city is a joy I relish each time I fly home to see my family. It’s ever evolving, with such an abundance of opportunities for photography. There are people from all walks of life showcasing their styles, cultures and talents, and spaces that are inspiring in their grandeur and history.

Seeing Multitudes
It was a beautiful day to walk around the city of New Westminster and capture the colourful surroundings on my Fuji x100VI. Experimenting with the multiple-exposure modes that this powerful camera offers, I love how this camera allows for me to push the boundaries of my creativity!

International Womens Day March, Vancouver 2025
“International Women's Day March Vancouver works to celebrate, amplify, and fight alongside the diversity of women in our community to achieve equity and create awareness of issues self-identifying women in Vancouver face.”
A few other male pals and I went down and marched in solidarity.

Song & Surf 2025
“Song & Surf Music Festival is the musical jewel of the rugged West Coast of Southern Vancouver Island. It embodies what we love: close friends, amazing Canadian musical talent, and a backdrop of ocean and mountains.”
I went for a second time to enjoy the music and surroundings of Port Renfrew, and here’s what it looked like!

A few enjoyable Sunday snaps with the x100vi
Nothing more than a casual stroll around town.

Venturing East to New West
New Westminster is a spot that’s popped onto my radar a few times since I arrived in Vancouver last year. Local Facebook groups dedicated to photography have mentioned it as a good spot for street photography, so I thought I’d head that way in an effort to adventure. With my camera slowly becoming a part of my daily existence again, I’m appreciating the encouragement it gives me to explore and introduce.

A Real Life Treasure Hunt: Mushroom Foraging
I recently ventured north of my new home, Vancouver, searching for hidden gems pushing themselves up from the forest floor and my childhood spirit was alive with adventure.

Renew Retreats X WIRTH Hats
We ventured to North Vancouver, to Capilano Canyon and Cleveland Dam, and walked among the autumn colours and blooming mushrooms, alongside 18 beautiful souls and a gorgeous, energetic dog, Ollie.

Vancouver, here I come!
Oh Vancouver BC, I hear so many great things,
“What a beautiful place!” so often folks sing!
I’m coming for you and your rainy grey skies,
Your film industry beckons, shining bright in my eyes.
Wellness, Yoga, and Kirtan galore!
Vancouver Vancouver, what’ve you got in store?

Forest Bathing: Relax and Live a Little Longer
Studies show that simply being in a forest promotes lower concentrations of cortisol (the stress hormone), lowers our pulse rate, lowers blood pressure, increases parasympathetic nerve activity and lowers sympathetic nerve activity. What have we got to loose?

Able Bodied, Able Minded... Abel Tasman: A Great Walk
Not many days pass by in this country where I don’t appreciate my able body... Hours spent out in the sun, in the rain, in the wide open spaces, and amongst the minty forest air. Spectacular, gorgeous in it’s detail, full of surprises, New Zealand is a perfect land to unleash the inner explorer.
Alive with our 2018 pre-Christmas spirit, five of us road-tripped from Queenstown to the north-west coast of the South Island to walk the Great Walk, the Abel Tasman Track. Here’s the highlight reel!

Early morning stretches
This winter's morning was fresh, clear, and still; a perfect Monday dawn. Vicky and I climbed the nearest peak to photograph some mountainous stretches and moves, and stayed until our fingers were cold and noses red.

Refreshing my approach... With a cold dip.
2018 has been an odd year for photography and me. I've stepped away from shooting, giving myself a break, allowing myself to connect with life outside of the medium, and hoping I'd find a refreshed connection with photography itself. Here’s some reflections I have from the last 6 months…

Be a force for positive change.
In a world that can be difficult and often negative, creating more positivity makes it a better place for all of us. How are you a force for positive change? And how can we be better?
